Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) is a multinational engineering consultancy with a growing reputation for technical excellence. With a particular strength in delivering great projects in the Power sector, SKM’s business is expanding rapidly in the South East Asia region. SKM has recently won an exciting project in Bontang, East Kalimantan, Indonesia to manage and oversee the construction of a new two unit coal-fired mine mouth power plant.
An experienced Senior Civil/Structural engineer is required to join our project team for the duration of this contract. Your prime focus will be supervising the constructing contractors to ensure the work is carried out in accordance with contract specifications. Other activities include producing regular reports regarding “progress against schedule†and identifying non-compliances. You will also co-ordinate other works activities and ensure all administrative aspects of the project are completed.
A tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural engineering is mandatory, and the position requires a solid level of hands-on (10-15 years) experience particularly in respect of piling and foundation works. Expertise gained in power plants and/or heavy industrial design and construction projects will be highly regarded. You are a team oriented professional with excellent communication skills and an eye for detail, experienced in ensuring contractors’ works are implemented in accordance with international standards.
