Procurement Engineer
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Proposal and Delivery Teams, Deal Hub, Procurement Professionals, and other Compliance Engineering / Product Safety team members to ensure all applicable product safety standards are met while supporting product for resale in the Asia Pacific market.
• Work directly with IBM marketing coordinator as well as manufacturers/suppliers in obtaining product information for making timely determinations regarding safety of products/system integrations.
• Work as a team member against a specific yet often accelerated time schedule.
• Assist opportunity owner and project managers to ensure compliance with applicable IBM and external regulatory standards, as well as other countries directives and laws in the area of environmental protection, chemical management, hazardous material transportation and / or occupational safety.
• Provide compliance engineering risk assessments in the areas of Product Safety, Emissions, and Telephony for the purpose of maintaining existing IBM Global Services projects / programs.
• Develop, direct and implement compliance engineering program strategies in support of simple and complex business solutions.
• Investigate product safety related failures, complaints, or reported injuries and recommend corrective actions. Must be able to manage sensitive issues while maintaining continuous tack and diplomacy.
• Conduct and coordinate compliance engineering education sessions together with environmental affairs focal point to create awareness on relevant processes as well as perform monthly testing to minimize escape cases.
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years relevant work experience.
• Possess strong communication skills.
• Independent and self motivated.
• Good problem solving capabilities with the ability to analyze and provide recommendations.
• Should be a self starter with good leadership qualities.
• Should have a technical/ electrical or strong system integration background and able to learn IBM and country legal requirements.
• Knowledge of Product Safety Standards, and National Electric Code will be an added advantage.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Petaling Jaya.
• Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
