Statoil ASA, trading as Statoil and formerly known as StatoilHydro, is a Norwegian energy company, formed by the 2007 merger of Statoil with the oil and gas division of Norsk Hydro. Senior Exploration Geoscientist – Statoil Indonesia AS

Job description:

 Analysing and interpreting geophysical and geological data in order to 1) maximize the value of the held Exploration acreage and 2) acquire new acreage in Indonesia by carrying out several of the following tasks:

 2D and 3D seismic interpretation , regional and prospect scale
 Prospect mapping and evaluation , volume calculation, geological risk assessment
 Depth conversion and seismic processing support
 Tectonics and structural mapping
 Regional and PSC scale sedimentology work
 Seismic stratigraphical analysis
 Basin analysis

• Participating in partner meetings, holding presentations and having partner discussions when necessary in order to share information and influence decisions
• Provide advice to management on data purchase and PSC evaluation strategy

Personal qualities:

• Fluency in English
• Business understanding and awareness
• Systematic and efficient working methods
• Good interpersonal skills, team work oriented across disciplines and organizational boundaries
• Ability to be hands-on and perform high-quality work within tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and presentation skills


Requirements:

• University degree within geology or geophysics
• Relevant experience within exploration geology or geophysics
• Experience with seismic data interpretation and software such as Petrel, Geoprobe, PowerView
• Experience with geothermal prospect evaluation is a plus
