Responsibilities:
This position is based in Singapore.

Google is looking for people who have a passion for language and want to help shape Google’s voice in their native country and language. Google's mission is to make all of the world's information universally accessible and useful. We take that seriously for far more than just English language products. Help us make sure that Google is crisp, useful and fun in the language you know best.

Do you speak and write one of the following at a fluent level of proficiency? Are you a graduate of a leading undergraduate or graduate institution and top academic performer? Do you come from a creative, journalistic or marketing background? Then this role could be perfect for you.

* Indonesian
* Tagalog
* Malay
* Thai
* Urdu
* Vietnamese

Please translate and include the following two phrases in your application.

“Bad, bad server. No donut for you.”

“Google's respect and affection for our canine friends is an integral facet of our corporate culture. If you're interested, here's our official Dog Policy. We have nothing against cats, per se, but we're a dog company, so as a general rule we feel cats visiting our campus would be fairly stressed out.”

Responsibilities:

* Edit and proofread translated material, such as UI, online help, marketing material and outbound communication.
* Assist in developing local language vocabulary for new features and products.
* Maintain and create product specific terminology and style guide.
* Form a critical part of the Google in-country “go-to-market” team with marketing, QA and PR.
* Work closely with Google’s translators and drive linguistic quality.

Requirements:

* BA/BS in your language of expertise or a related discipline; Masters degree preferred.
* Experience as a translator, linguist or writer. Strong preference for experience in fiction, marketing/advertising translations and localisation.
* Speak fluently and idiomatically in a foreign language (see list above), as well as a high level of proficiency in English.
* Meticulous approach to instructions and strict adherence to deadlines.
* Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
* Ability to work independently, as well as to work cooperatively with other internal resources.
* Ability to resolve linguistic issues in a quick and smooth manner.

For immediate consideration, please send a text (ASCII), PDF, Word or HTML version of your resume in English to jobs@google.com.
